Customer Testimonies

“We are thrilled with the training we have gotten for our dog. Brad designed the training program to suit our family’s needs and we love how good the dog is with our children.”
-Shawn N.

“I’m very happy with the dog and training I received from The K9 Works. My dog, Fritz, prevented an assault from happening to me. Had he not been with me, I would likely have been assaulted. He’s a great dog.  Thanks for all your training.”
-Scott V.

"I am very happy with the training my dog Maverick and I received from Brad at The K9 Works. My German Shepherd, Maverick, started with general obedience training when he was six weeks old. Maverick is our family pet but also has an extended family because I run a daycare in my home. When Maverick mastered obedience training we then moved on to Level I Personal Protection Training. Maverick showed us his alarm dog skills were strong when late one night he woke us up to alert us that someone was trying to get into our home. The training we received allows us to have a gentle family dog that is great with kids, but also when necessary, protect our family."
-Shannon M.

Protection/Security Canines

Our philosophy of what constitutes a protection dog is very simple: it is a dog that is a valued member of your family that when called upon, will protect you by either alerting, driving off, or when necessary, engaging attackers in a direct physical encounter. Otherwise, the dog is social with others who pose no threat. Our emphasis is on a stable, correct dog. Our training reflects this in the social experiences we place on them and ultimately our dogs make trusted family members.

The above statement drives the strategies and tactics of what we do. We work with you to help identify the specific skill sets that best suit your individual needs and lifestyle. All our training is customized for our clients and below you will find a general guideline of what is available. Call us to set up a personal consultation to discuss your needs.

Level I: The Alarm or Threat Canine
These dogs are trained in both on-leash and off-leash obedience. When they detect a threatening presence in or near your home, office, or vehicle, they will alert by barking. These behaviors are trained to be automatic and can be commanded at any time. Their function is to alert and put on a threat display and they are an effective visual deterrent.

Level II: Companion Protector Canine
Our Companion Protector canines have all the training of the alarm dogs, but with a significant addition: they have been trained to physically engage an attacker. They are trained to engage an attacker and will defend against more than one. They provide an extra degree of physical protection and deterrence.

Level III: Executive Security Canine
These dogs have all the skills of Level I and II with additional training in the area of scent detection. The scent detection skills include human scent and/or explosives detection training. These dogs are used to detect an intruder in the home and will engage if the intruder attempts to flee.

Regardless of training level, our dogs provide effective protection while at the same time are enjoyable companions to their families.
